The Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona is situated in a new neighbourhood of the city in the environment of the third largest park of Barcelona, 14 hectares of footpaths, lakes and green zone, children's play area and sports facilities and within walking distance to the beach. Next to the hotel you can find the new international Convention Centre (CCIB) and you can enjoy the comfort to find everything you need in the commercial and leisure centre of Diagonal Mar offering a hypermarket, AMC cinemas with 18 screens, 240 shops, a 5,000 m2 terrace with restaurants and leisure activities and underground parking with 5000 spaces.

It takes only 20 minutes to get to the city centre by car and the Barcelona International Airport is located 16km from the hotel, 25 minutes by taxi. The access route such as Avenida Diagional, Rambia Prim are convenient and well known. The area is connected by a network of bus and underground lines from all points of the city.

TRAVEL

By Air:

Barcelona Airport is 13 km (approximately 8 miles) southwest of the city; access is by the C-246 highway—Autovia de Castelldefels from the center of the city.

By Taxi:

Taxis are available from outside the terminals. Taxis are yellow and black, and are obliged by law to use meters. Journey time to the Hilton Diagonal Mar is about 20 to 25 minutes and costs exactly €35 one way.

If you are staying at the Hilton Hotel, we recommend you to take a taxi in the Airport, since buses and train will leave you at the city centre and the Hotel is about 15 minutes from city centre by car.

Near the Hotel, there is metro and buses that will bring you to the city centre in 20 minutes

Climate

The city generally enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot, humid summers and mild, somewhat rainy, winters. The average monthly temperatures in October is 14 degrees Centigrade/57 degrees Fahrenheit

Language

Catalan, a Romance language, with written texts dating from the end of the 12th century, is the language of Catalonia, and is the official language along with Spanish. The Catalonian people speak both languages but prefer to express themselves in Catalan. Street names, metro stations and information panels are all in Catalan.

Time Zones

In Barcelona, as in the rest of Spain (except for the Canary isles), add one hour to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in winter, and two hours in summer.

Electricity

Throughout Spain the electricity is 220 volts, and the plugs on electrical devices have two cylindrical prongs, with a ground at the side.

Currency

The monetary unit in Spain is the Euro.
