JBoss Operations Network Product Support Policy

Overview

Red Hat offers Product Subscriptions and Support Services for the JBoss Operations Network product as described on this page below. Red Hat has established fixed life cycles for JBoss Operations Network, which will allow customers and partners to plan their resources, certifications, and implementations accordingly.

Red Hat releases errata to address bugs, provide enhancements, or to fix security vulnerabilities. With each erratum, we supply an advisory to give details of the issues being fixed as well as how to obtain and install the required software packages. Certified product downloads and errata/patch releases are made available to Red Hat customers via our Customer Support Portal (http://network.jboss.com).

Details

To facilitate and retain the high standard of stability inherent in JBoss Operations Network, the product support services are divided into two phases after General Availability (GA) of a major release.

Phase 1: Full Support.

Start Date: General Availability.

Production support is provided according to the published Scope of Coverage (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/soc/production) and Service Level Agreement (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/sla/production). Developer support is provided according to the published Scope of Coverage (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/soc/developer) and Service Level Agreement (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/sla/developer). All available and qualified errata will be applied via periodic Product Updates and Service Packs or as required for Security level errata. Updated ISO images, if applicable, are only provided during the Full Support Phase.

Phase 2: Maintenance Support.

Start Date: No less than one (1) year after General Availability.

End Date: No less than two (2) years after General Availability.

Production support is provided according to the published Scope of Coverage (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/soc/production) and Service Level Agreement (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/sla/production). Developer support is provided according to the published Scope of Coverage (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/soc/developer) and Service Level Agreement (http://www.redhat.com/support/policy/sla/developer). During the Maintenance Phase, security errata and select mission critical bug fixes will be released.

Supporting Software

If supporting software (e.g. Oracle database or Postgres database, or the underlying operating system) has ended its product life cycle before the end of the Production 2 phase, customers may be required to upgrade to a more recent version of JBoss Operations Network.

Client Systems

JBoss Operations Network is a management platform for client systems including JBoss middleware products. Client systems that have extended beyond their individual support life cycles will not be supported. For example, JBoss Application Server version 3.2 is no longer supported by Red Hat, therefore JBoss Operations Network’s ability to manage JBoss Application Server version 3.2 is also no longer supported. Customers are advised to migrate away from unsupported client platforms promptly. Customers may be required to migrate to newer versions of JBoss Operations Network (when support is available) for supporting any client systems with newer releases since the last JBoss Operations Network version. For instance, if a new version of JBoss Enterprise Application Platform is released in the future, customers may be required to migrate their JBoss Operations Network to a future version of JBoss Operations Network (when available) that will be certified for the appropriate JBoss Enterprise Application Platform version.
