JBoss ON Flash Tutorials

The following are some Flash tutorials that you may find helpful in getting up to speed with the JBoss Operations Network. For all of these demos, JBoss recommends a broadband connection rather than dial-up.

Installing JBoss ON

This tutorial demonstrates how to install the JBoss ON Server and JBoss ON Agent using the text installer. The demo installs on a Windows platform to illustrate how both the server and agent can be installed as Windows Services. However, the steps to install on UNIX platforms are practically the same as show in this tutorial, so whether you plan on installing on Windows or UNIX, this tutorial can prove helpful.

Securing JBoss ON

This tutorial will show how JBoss ON can be secured through the use of users, roles and groups. Your enterprise can include many types of resources - Windows and UNIX platforms, JBoss Application Servers, Tomcat Web containers and more. By grouping your resources and restricting access to those groups, you can effectively partition your enterprise so users can monitor and manage only those resources for which they are authorized.

Monitoring and Administrating JBoss ON

This tutorial shows some of the monitoring capabilities of JBoss ON. This tutorial only covers the "tip of the iceberg" when it comes to the monitoring features that JBoss ON provides. However, watching this tutorial will give you a good sense of what JBoss ON monitoring is all about.
