eXo Platform is a multi-national company established in 2003 and now employing more than 100 collaborators world wide. eXo Platform is developing Open Source collaborative software to build complete and reliable IT systems for medium to large organizations. eXo Platform is providing a wide range of java based software to improve work efficiency in companies: WebOS portals, enterprise content management systems, internet and intranet website management, complete collaborative suites including a mail client, a calendar and an address book, as well as a forum, a wiki, a chat, a visio conferencing tool and a social networking software to help companies to link their collaborators.

Our customers are often looking for products that can answer many of their needs. eXo Platform provide complete line of products to answer a wide range of issues (document management, collaborative needs, knowledge management). Moreover, all the tools are very well integrated together. So they have not multiple software vendors to manage.

Customers don't want to change their entire existing environment. Thanks to the standards compliance, eXo products leverage existing investments made in the infrastructure. eXo provides a single entry point to their information system.

Customization and access to the source code: thanks to the customization capabilities of eXo products, the customers are able to customize their products to cope with their corporate identity. Furthermore, the complete access to the code help our customers to personalize the product to add the new functionalities they need. This also helps to have a better ergonomic interface that is intuitive and easy to use (Learning curve shortened).

eXo Portal, that provides a single entry point to the IT system. eXo Portal relies on major standards (JSR 168 / 286, use of portlets) and is highly customisable.

eXo WebOS, based on portal, provides a common desktop view where users can easily find their applications as they are used too with common operating systems.

eXo DMS, is a tool to manage organisation's documents. eXo DMS is based on eXo JCR (Java Content Repository) which is a powerful implementation of the specification JSR 170. It enables unified access control, advanced research, versioning, indexing, ...

eXo WCM to manage multiple sites in one place. Based on eXo Portal (for the visual aspect) and eXo DMS (for the document management part).

eXo CS is the collaborative suite coming with an email client, a calendar, an address book and a chat.

eXo KS is the knowledge management tool that provides a forum and a FAQ.

A key point is that all these products are designed to work together and so can answer a very large set of needs.

Customers:

  • Belgium Ministry of Finances: 30.000 users on eXo Portal, DMS, and CS. The ministry was looking for a highly integrated and ergonomic stack.
  • State of Geneva: eXo Portal, DMS and WCM. Security is a very important criteria that decided the State of Geneva.
  • M6 (French TV channel): eXo Portal and CS. Integration to external applications was important point.
  • Several French General Councils to answer their needs for a new generation of portal and document management systems.
